Dive Xtras democratizes underwater scooters with the new BlackTip! The Blacktip Dive Thruster now comes in three models, the diminutive BlackTip Travel, the BlackTip Tech and the BlackTip Exploration for those who push the limits.

Weighing just 24 lbs, the BlackTip Travel combines the impressive performance of other Dive Xtra thrusters with a lower acquisition cost and a more travel-friendly design. From your usual underwater playground to global exploration, the BlackTip is the perfect scooter for divers of all skill levels.

The original Blacktip was designed to be a low cost, lightweight recreational thruster compatible with all DCB batteries. Horizontal buoyancy was not possible with these design constraints, but now, with many users preferring larger batteries, it is possible to offer a thruster with neutral and horizontal buoyancy by limiting its use to 9 Ah and 12 Ah batteries.

Having neutral and horizontal buoyancy, the BlackTip Tech is ready for anything! Tackle any technical dive with ease, thanks to this slightly longer and better balanced thruster.

The BlackTip Exploration uses four 9/12 Ah batteries to double the range and range of other scooters. It has neutral, horizontal buoyancy and comes with an integrated freshwater/saltwater weight plate. If you're pushing the limits of dive time, this is the thruster for you.

The BlackTip is powered by a pair of power hand tool batteries installed directly in the hull. This makes the thruster easy to charge and makes it even easier to increase autonomy by allowing the batteries to be replaced between two dives. The BlackTip accepts all DeWalt 20V power tool batteries or batteries using the following capacity DCB interface: 5Ah, 6Ah, 9Ah, 12Ah.

The BlackTip has a built in LED display that displays the selected speed, battery level and also a mismatch error if there is a problem with the batteries.

Your Blacktip can be taken on all commercial flights. By using removable, compact power tool batteries, the BlackTip meets TSA and CATSA lithium battery limits on commercial passenger aircraft. This feature, combined with the scooter's mass of only 24 lbs, makes the BlackTip a very practical and compact option for international divers!

Activating the BlackTip outside of the water will trigger a new feature called “Safe Start”. The BlackTip's propeller will spin at low speed on low power if it senses it is not in the water. This helps prevent unintended damage to your scooter or equipment when you're not diving.

The BlackTip is equipped with eight different speeds. To activate the scooter, press the thumb trigger twice. The BlackTip will start at speed 3 (called “cruising speed”) if it is in water, but will start in “Safe Start” mode if it is not in water. Once your BlackTip is running, press the thumb trigger twice to upshift, and press the trigger once to downshift.

Your BlackTip scooter can have neutral buoyancy with a combination of batteries and weight. However, the nose of the BlackTip will always be slightly higher in relation to the tail. This may surprise some experienced scooter users, but it is not a problem for most divers.
